Michael Kimball has published two novels, The Way the Family Got Away (2000) and How Much of Us There Was (2005). His third novel, Dear Everybody, will be published in the spring of 2008. He has won a fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts, a Boswell and Johnson Award, the Lidano Fiction Prize, and Stephen King recently named an excerpt from Dear Everybody one of the “100 Distinguished Stories of 2006.” He has also published many pieces in many literary
magazines, including Open City, Prairie Schooner, Post Road, and, of course, New York Tyrant. He lives in Charm City.
Breece D’J Pancake
 
Breece D’J Pancake was born June 29, 1952 in South Charleston, West Virginia. He studied at Marshall university and university of Virginia. Most of his stories are set in rural West Virginia and revolve around characters and naturalistic settings, often adapted from his own past. At
the age of 27, Pancake died from a self-inflicted shotgun wound. Pancake
was a devout fan of the music of folk singer Phil Ochs.

Jody Brown is the editor of the New York Tyrant. Born in Alexandria,
Virginia, educated in San Francisco and New Orleans, he now lives in
Brooklyn.
 
Jonathan Ames
 
Jonathan Ames is the author of six books, including Wake Up, Sir! and
What’s Not to Love? His graphic novel, The Alcoholic, with illustrations by
Dean Haspiel, will be published in 2008 by DC Comics.
Rachel Sherman
 
Rachel Sherman is the author of The First Hurt (Open City Books, 2006). She was a finalist in The Frank O’Connor Short Story Awards, and shortlisted for The Story Prize. The First Hurt was chosen as one of the 25 Books to Remember of 2006 by The New York Public Library. Her fiction has appeared in Story Quarterly, Conjunctions, McSweeney’s, n+1, Small Spiral Notebook, and Nerve, among other publications.
Eric Hanson
 
Eric Hanson’s illustrations have appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s, Vanity Fair, The Atlantic, The New York Times and other publications. His fiction and satire have been published in McSweeney’s. He has also written for Smithsonian, Hemispheres, National Geographic Traveler, Skiing and Minnesota Monthly. His original art can be purchased through Flanders Contemporary Art in Minneapolis.
Garth Buckner
 
Garth Buckner’s first novel, The Origins of Solitude, was published by Triple Press/Ravenna Press in 2005. His work has appeared in Tin House, Avatar and other places. He lives with his wife and two sons and is currently completing his follow up novel.
Meridith Gresher
 
Meridith Gresher trained as a classical dancer at The Atlanta School of Ballet and apprenticed with International Ballet Rotaru. ultimately, she traded point shoes for pen and legal pad before the days of her laptop. She has recently been published in Edifice Wrecked and the Marginalia section of Poems Niederngasse. Her work has appeared in 2River View, Blast, the Journal of Modern Post and FRiGG. Nic Kelman
 
Nic Kelman holds a BS in Brain and Cognitive Science from MIT and an MFA in Creative Writing from Brown university. He is the author of the critically-acclaimed, international bestseller, girls, published in 2003, and the more recent, Video Game Art, an art history of video games. His fiction, non-fiction, and photography have appeared, among other places, in “Elle,” “Glamour,” “The Village Voice,” “BlackBook,” and “The Kenyon Review,” as well as various anthologies.
Ken Sparling
 
Ken Sparling’s most recent book, For Those Whom God Has Blessed With Fingers, was published by Pedlar Press in 2005. His other books are Dad Says He Saw You at the Mall (Knopf, 1996), an untitled novel (Pedlar, 2003) and a hand-made book, available by special order, called Hush Up and Listen Stinky Poo Butt. Ken lives in Richmond Hill and works at Toronto Public Library.
